The orchestra
Our musicians and conductors work with young talent on experimental music in our educational projects. We guide, inspire and bring their vision to life. Our electroacoustic ensemble plays sounds never heard before. A unique experience for audience, composer and musician.
Orkest De Ereprijs
Orkest De Ereprijs has been the living instrument for today's music for 45 years. As an orchestra for contemporary composed music, we commission composers to write especially for us.In this, our permanent fourteen-piece line-up is both agile and challenging, and our
performances always manage to inspire and surprise. This approach is reflected in our collaborations and initiatives in the field of education, talent development and De Ereprijs has acquired its own place in the world of contemporary music.
The orchestra has a permanent line-up consisting of two flutes, clarinet/bass clarinet, two saxophones, trumpet, two trombones, horn, tuba, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano and percussion (classical, modern, drums). This allows the orchestra to meet the often specific
needs of contemporary composers. The commissions and concerts are multidisciplinary with a wide choice of singers, instrumentalists, electronic artists, dancers, theater makers and filmmakers. De Ereprijs has written and performed over 400 commissioned compositions. Collaborations of De Ereprijs exist among others with: ArtEZ dance academy Arnhem, Phion, NJON Apeldoorn, VO-schools Gelderland/Utrecht/Overijssel/Nordrhein Westfalen, Gigant Apeldoorn, Musis & Stadstheater Arnhem, Royal Conservatory The Hague, ArtEZ Composition Zwolle and Arnhem and ArtEZ Music Teacher Zwolle.
Aspasia Nasopoulou
Since January 2021, the artistic direction has been in the hands of Aspasia Nasopoulou. Nasopoulou (Athens, 1972) studied piano and composition in Piraeus, Athens and Amsterdam. As composer and organizer, she has frequently collaborated with musicians, dancers, poets and artists. Her work has been performed at home and abroad by ensembles and soloists such as Ralph van Raat, DoelenKwartet, Wishful Singing, Bram van Sambeek, Concord Ensemble (Dublin) and Alma Mahler Sinfonietta (Italy). The orchestra has found in Aspasia Nasopoulou an inspired and visionary composer/musician with a great heart for new music.
